Lovely, vintage fox hunting horse rosette mounted on handmade brass chainmail. Each ring of the cuff is opened and closed individually to create the European 4 in 1 weave. Horse rosettes were originally used to decorate the bridles of horses in a parade or show. While this one is not especially old, guessing it dates to the mid-century, it is especially colorful and well done. This rosette may have been made specifically as a piece of jewelry as the back is rather different and actually, made attaching it to the cuff much easier than others! See photo below. The antiqued brass rings are a nice compliment to the colors in the rosette. The cuff is about 1 1/2" wide. The ends of the cuff are finished with a leather double snap closure and the length of the cuff from one snap to the other is about 7 7/8 inches. Currently, the cuff would fit a larger wrist of about 7 1/4 to 7 1/2" in circumference. However, just message me and it can be made smaller or larger per your request. The rosette is domed, about 1 7/8" in diameter and about 1/2" in height at the largest part of the dome.
