Beautiful, vintage, cut steel shoe buckle stamped "France" on a handmade steel, chainmail cuff. This is a beautiful old cut steel buckle from the early 20th century.  Each "stone" is faceted to look like marcasite and individually riveted to the back.  These are quite collectible and you can easily research them if you'd like to know more.  There is no rust on the buckle. There is one tiny "stone" missing but it's hard to notice--I just noticed it now.  In the first photo, you may be able to see where a stone is missing.  It's on the diamond shape in the center of the buckle, on the far right corner of the diamond shape.

As you can see in the photo of the back of the cuff, the chainmail is threaded through the back where the shoe clip used to be and it is also held in place with four of the chainmail rings in each corner.

The chainmail cuff is hand woven by me from approximately 390 stainless steel jump rings!  It will not rust but the vintage buckle may rust if it is repeatedly doused in water and not dried thoroughly.  The sliding tube clasp is easy to get on/off and is also made from stainless steel.  The cuff measures about 1 3/8" wide but the buckle is slightly wider at 1 7/8".  The length of the buckle is difficult to measure as it curved which makes it fit nicely on the wrist.  Roughly it is 2 1/4" long.  The length of the cuff is 7 1/4" from end to end including the clasp and would fit a medium to large wrist.  It can easily be made smaller or larger if you prefer--just contact me about determining your wrist size and I can adjust before shipping.
